Our Client is a highly successful company which specialises in building, prototyping, racing, servicing and caring for classic sportscars. It manufactures on site and sells parts and components all over the world. It has the capability to manufacture complete cars from scratch and possesses an engine dynamometer described as "the most sophisticated in classic racing" (giving a facility to test engines and new components up to 850bhp in house). There is a fully-equipped machine-shop with crack detection and pressure testing equipment, precision lathes, folding and pressing equipment, computer-controlled millers and a fabrication shop guided by a CAD capability.
This is a fabulous opportunity. The Workshop and Site Manager will be highly hands-on whilst being an intuitive and experienced manager of people within this high quality, solutions orientated engineering environment. Candidates MUST be able to demonstrate that they have the interpersonal, customer and technical skills to manage and motivate a couple of dozen people engaged in car and component manufacture, engine building and testing, fabrication, workshop and logistics activities associated with a wide variety of road and race cars. The role involves the overall supervision of all team members to ensure that the Company's very high standards are delivered and sustained at all times, whilst maintaining equipment and machinery in tip-top condition. An ability to prioritise, and to organise and re-organise ever fluctuating workloads, is essential.
